TNM Admin:
Introduction:
The goal of TNM Admin is to reduce the amount of time it takes the helpdesk to reach out to a user that has a ticket in which an application needs to either be installed or updated.
Getting Started:
At this time, you should see a new desktop icon appear. The logo will be an orange checkmark labeled as TNM Admin (refer to the logo beside the title of this document). If you wish to start an administrator session to update or install an application please begin by double-clicking on the app. Next, you will see a new popup asking you for your work email and an empty text in which you must fill to provide your reason for requesting admin privileges. This option should only be used if your application is not updating automatically, or you require an external app like Virtru.
Please note all company applications, such as Zoom, Slack, Foxit, and Office365 Microsoft applications are whitelisted. You have the ability to “Run as Administrator” without the need to submit an administrative request.
Once your request has been submitted, you will see the following image below.
Once your request has been successfully submitted, our Helpdesk team will review your request and evaluate whether it will be approved or not. If approved, you will receive a popup notification and an email (image below). If your request is denied, you will receive a pop up and email outlining a reason from Helpdesk to why it was denied. If you believe your denied request was unjustified, please follow up by submitting a helpdesk ticket.
Once you start your administrator session a “Code of Conduct" prompt will appear. Please read through it carefully and understand that each and every one of your administrator sessions can be audited by IT, if required.
Once the session has been successfully started, you will now have 10 minutes to install or update your applications. Once you are done with your session, please select the finish button.
As previously mentioned, all company applications have been whitelisted so you the user can run these programs as administrator without the hassle of going back and forth with the helpdesk. It's as easy as right-clicking the program and selecting “Run as administrator” you will receive a prompt stating you do request to run this program as administrator and will be granted access. Please note as well these sessions can be audited as well.
